Escrow

Every purchase completes through Escrow.com unless agreed otherwise in writing. Funds are secured before any transfer begins, and released only after you confirm control of the domain. The Escrow.com fee is included in the listed price, except on lease-to-own (below). Escrow.com accepts a bank wire for any amount, and card or PayPal for payments up to $5,000 where it offers them on the transaction.

If the transfer does not complete

If the name does not reach your account, you get every dollar back: the Escrow.com transaction is cancelled and your payment returned, and we reimburse the Escrow.com fee that it deducts from refunds.

Transfer

Transfers complete in 24 hours on average once Escrow.com has the funds; some registrars take longer. Some transfers are subject to registrar or ICANN lock periods outside our control, including the 60-day lock that follows a change of registrant. We coordinate the entire process and remain available until the name is fully under your control.

Price, taxes and fees

Prices are stated in US dollars and include the Escrow.com fee, except on lease-to-own, where the buyer pays Escrow.com's fees as part of each monthly payment. They are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, duties and registrar transfer fees, which are the buyer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Lease-to-own

Names listed at $2,000 or more can be paid in 12 equal monthly payments, with no interest. Escrow.com keeps the name in its account, under its Domain Name Holding service, until the last payment, then transfers it to you. On lease-to-own the buyer pays all Escrow.com fees, and the monthly figure on the listing already includes them: Escrow.com's transaction fee on the sale, spread over the 12 payments, and its monthly holding fee, 0.01% of the price and at least $100. Charges that depend on your own choices are not in that figure: $85 for each change Escrow.com makes to the name while it keeps it, such as pointing it at your website, and any charge your bank or card provider makes for a payment.

If a payment is more than 7 days late, we notify Escrow.com that the plan is in default. If it is not brought up to date, Escrow.com returns the name to us, the plan ends, and payments already made are not refunded. The schedule is confirmed in writing before the first payment.

What we warrant

Netaq warrants that its principal is the registrant of each domain it lists, and that so far as it is aware the transfer of that domain will not infringe the rights of a third party. This is Netaq's only warranty in relation to a domain and it survives for 12 months following transfer. All other warranties are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Trademarks

Purchasing a domain name does not by itself grant trademark rights. A domain may be identical or similar to a name in which a third party claims rights. Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves that their intended use is lawful, and should obtain independent legal and trademark advice before purchase.

Variations

Payment and escrow terms may vary by transaction and are confirmed in writing before escrow opens. Where a written agreement for a specific transaction conflicts with these terms, that agreement prevails. Netaq is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
